Stroma Cairns is a BAFTA winning director based in London. She has an intimate approach to directing and is drawn to stories revolving around family and youth.
Stroma directed half of BAFTA winning TV series MOOD, which won 'Best Mini-Series' in 2023. It also won best 'Limited Series' at The Royal Television Society Awards.
Her short film IF YOU KNEW premiered at Sheffield DocFest, which went on to receive the Jury's Special Commendation award at BFI London Film Festival and London Short Film Festival. It also won 'Best Short Film' at Open City Doc Festival and was shortlisted for a Grierson trustees award. The film was inspired by her own hearing loss and portrays a day in the life of two teenage twins who are profoundly Deaf.
